"When we are pursuing God in the area of our mind, our mind looks increasingly unencumbered by irrational, wild thoughts and fears that ensnare it in worldly stuff (in stuff it can't do anything about)."This is so true and so convicting for me. My mind so often becomes entangled in a mess of worries and false thinking, and it toys with the rest of me. I tend to feel so defeated by the cycle of thoughts I'm caught in that surrendering those thoughts to God and pursuing a posture of truth in my mind seems nearly impossible.
But without this act of surrender I become enslaved to thoughts that tear me from God and from His truth. By letting go of these fears and untruths I am free to know God better and create a foundation of truth on which obedience can be built. And the better I now God, the better I am able to love and serve Him.
"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."-2 Corinthians 10:5
