In Orlando.
In my parent's house.
A bit restless in anticipation.
In awe of where God has brought me.
Leaving for London in 5 days.
Ready for the adventure ahead of me.
I've read and heard a lot of statements stating that 2009 was horrible, and exclaiming that 2010 has to be better. Personally, 2009 might not have been the easiest year of my life, but it might have been one of the best.
There were moments where I struggled, where I was hurting, and probably wished for a fresh start. But all of those moments were balanced by magnificent ones where I was laughing, sharing life with people, falling in love with God all of over again.
And I wouldn't trade any parts of my life for "better" ones because, ultimately, I am who I am now because of what I have been through.
In my senior year of high school I prayed for a life that would allow me to follow God day by day; to have a state of heart and mind that would say "Here I am, send me." But in order for that to happen, he would have to loosen my grip on my own life and take away my control. And that's exactly what 2009 was about.
Now 2010 is here and I'm being sent into the unknown, the undiscovered (at least for me). I'm definitely going to screw it up some. I'm probably going to lose my way a bit here and there. But God will be there for it all, so I'm not too afraid.
I guess if I had to make a new year's resolution, it would be to attempt to be consistently reliant on God for my direction and strength. Honestly, when I look at the years ahead of me (and the years past), I just won't be able to do it without him because I never was able to do it without him.
So in review 2009 was great, and I have no doubt that 2010 will be just as wonderful, if not more. Because no matter how many good or bad things happen, I will be growing, exploring, and finding myself and God. Isn't that just lovely?
Here is 2009 in photo review:
